Engaged // Rebecca & Ben

Just outside of Nashville in Fairview, TN, I met up with Rebecca and Ben for the first time. But this wasn’t a typical client meeting, because I was already their wedding photographer, and right after our meeting I was shooting their engagement session and announcement party. And that’s not the way things usually go, but Rebecca and Ben saw something special in me and my work that they liked. They put their trust in me, which is a huge honor and a small part of why I feel so blessed to be able to do what I do.

But a much larger part of why I feel so blessed to be able to do what I do is because of couples like Rebecca and Ben.

I sat in Rebecca’s parents’ home, where they’ll be having their backyard wedding this August, talking with Rebecca and Ben and listening to the story about how they met in law school in Arkansas. He called her fancy and she insulted his dad. I listened as they told me about their first date, about how they met each other for sushi, Ben dressed to the nines and Rebecca in a t-shirt, and how they saw something special in each other (which should clue you in to just how much fun these two are).

And as I sat and listened, I couldn’t help but smile. I couldn’t help be see something special in them too.

And the rest, as they say, is history. Since that first date they’ve been inseparable–that is until last summer when Rebecca went to study abroad in Australia and Ben went overseas to work with Toms. When they both returned home, they decided to start their story together. And that brings us to here.

Rebecca and Ben were a completely joy to work with. Needless to say, I can’t wait for their wedding. To view more images from Rebecca and Ben’s engagement session and announcement party CLICK HERE to view their slideshow.
