We sat at Crema sipping coffee, talking about our mutual appreciation for quality in everything from delicious food and caffeinated libations to men’s dress shoes and boots to film photography, and became fast friends. I listened to Jen and Devin talk about how they met, how they got engaged and the things that were most important to them about their wedding. But most of all I left my first meeting with Jen and Devin feeling inspired by the quiet comfort of the love they share.
As I drove home I reflected on just how special of an opportunity it is to be chosen to document someone’s wedding day. I’m often reminded of that sentiment, and couples like Jen and Devin certainly have that effect on me. I didn’t know if they would choose me to be their photographer when we parted ways that afternoon, but I can’t tell you how glad I was when they emailed me to let me know I’d have the opportunity to capture these memories for them.
