Inspiration // Be My Honey Bee

It all started the first time I heard Blake Shelton’s Honey Bee. I was driving down a country road on a sunny Spring afternoon with the windows down and the music up. The lyrics of the chorus came across the radio…

If you’ll be my soft and sweet
I’ll be your strong and steady
You be my glass of wine
I’ll be your shot of whiskey
You be my sunny day
I’ll be your shade tree
You be my honeysuckle
I’ll be your honey bee

I immediately envisioned two lovebirds in a cute country setting, him playing guitar and singing those lyrics to her. They were young and in love, and he was about to propose…

I asked the crazy talented Jennifer Hamilton of Mr. & Mrs. Weddings and Events to be a part of this because I felt like our styles complimented each other perfectly and she could bring this vision to life. Luckily she felt the same way. The wheels started to turn over the summer to put together this inspirational shoot with a classically contemporary country vibe.

We also had a great crew that included Carnton Plantation‘s beautiful location, amazing paper products and design by Nico and Lala, gorgeous florals by Amanda Jerkins Design and sweet treats by Sweetface Cakes. Philip Lucia and Colby Dee Coskery were magic in front of the camera with hair and makeup by Lisa Ensminger and jewelry by Kim from Stella and Dot. And all the hard work payed off with a featured by one of the best wedding blogs in the industry, Ruffled. I can’t thank everyone enough for their time and talent in turning this little spark of an idea into a beautiful reality.
